N.C. Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services’ request for Section 18 labels for use of bifenthrin and dinotefuran on NC apples, peaches and nectarines has been approved by the EPA. As noted on our website last Thursday, bifenthrin is approved for use at 0.08 to 0.2 lb ai per acre per application, with a season total of 0.5 lb ai per acre per crop. In previous years bifenthrin has worked well at 0.1 lb ai per acre. Products approved for use on these crops include Brigade WSB, Bifenture EC, and Bifenture 10DF. All products have a 14-day preharvest interval.

Dinotefuran is labeled for use at 0.179 to 0.304 lb ai per acre per application, with a season total of 0.604 lb per acre per crop. At a rate of 0.2 lb ai per acre, which works well against BMSB, a total of three applications per season is allowed. Products available for use include Scorpion 35SL and Venom 70SG, both of which have a 3-day preharvest interval.

Labels for each product may be downloaded below.
