There are have been several reports of hail damange throughout the Fruitland region of Henderson county. When hail damage is severe, fire blight and fruit rots (bitter rot in particular) are a concern. If you had damage to your fruit or leaves as a result of hail a fungicide application should be applied ASAP. Here are some options but remember streptomycin has a 50 day PHI:

• "My fruit are likely salvageable": Apply 16 oz/100 gal (48 oz/A) Harbour (or alternative strep)  PLUS Captan 80WDG 3 lb/A + Merivon 5.5 fl oz/A OR Cabrio 12 oz/A.
• "My fruit may be salvageable but I cannot stomach spending money on locally systemic fungicides if I'm unsure". In this case apply: 16 oz/100 gal (48 oz/A) Harbour (or alternative strep)  PLUS Captan 80WDG 3 lb/A + Merivon 5.5 fl oz/A OR Cabrio 12 oz/A to 'Honeycrisp' and other high value cultivars that are especially prone to bitter rot. Apply 16 oz/100 gal (48 oz/A) Harbour (or alternative strep)  PLUS Captan 80WDG 3 lb/A to everything else.
• "My fruit are not salvageable". It is still imperative to get an application of strep on. In this case consider applying: 16 oz/100 gal (48 oz/A) Harbour (or alternative strep)  PLUS Captan 80WDG 3 lb/A to.

If you have resistance to Cabrio, Merivon, Luna Sensation, Flint Extra or Pristine, consider applying Omega, Topsin, or Aprovia instead. However please keep in mind the longer PHI intervals of Omega and Aprovia.

In all situations where streptomycin is applied make sure to add a surfactant.
